Location

Overview

The Langkawi SkyCab is one of the world's steepest cable-car rides, climbing from the Oriental Village to the Top Station atop Gunung Mat Cincang (Machinchang, about 708 m). From there an inclined lift called the SkyGlide descends to the SkyBridge β€” a 125 m curved cable-stayed pedestrian bridge suspended roughly 660 m above sea level, offering panoramas over a rainforest range said to be 450 million years old and the Andaman Sea islands. It is the signature attraction of the Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark and a must-do on any Langkawi trip.

Practical info

Arrive right at opening (about 9:30) and avoid weekends, peak season, cruise-ship days and public holidays to keep queues short. The summit is cool and windy β€” bring a light jacket, and wear comfortable shoes for lines and steps. Consider an Express (Fast) Lane ticket to cut waiting. Verify fares, hours and closures for the latest info.
