🇸🇪 Kungsträdgården

Kungsträdgården · 스톡홀름

Location

Overview

Kungsträdgården, literally 'the King's Garden,' is one of Stockholm's oldest parks, set in the heart of Norrmalm just north of the Old Town (Gamla Stan) and the Royal Swedish Opera. From a royal kitchen garden recorded in the 1430s it grew into a baroque pleasure garden and has been open to the public since 1875; today it hosts more than 200 events a year and serves as the city's central meeting place. In 2026 it remains lively across all four seasons - spring cherry blossoms, free open-air summer concerts, and a free winter ice rink. Rather than a formal 'sight,' it is best enjoyed as an easy, everyday slice of Stockholm life.
