Location

Overview

Kuang Si Falls is a multi-tiered limestone cascade about 29 km south of Luang Prabang, Laos, famous for the emerald-turquoise pools created by dissolved calcium carbonate. On the way to the falls sits the Tat Kuang Si Bear Rescue Centre, run by Free the Bears, home to Asiatic black bears (moon bears) rescued from poachers and bile farms. Several pools are open for swimming, making it a favorite for travelers who want to combine a natural swim with an easy trek.
