🇹🇼 Kenting – Eluanbi (Cape Eluanbi Lighthouse)

墾丁・鵝鑾鼻 · 핑둥(Pingtung)

Location

Overview

Eluanbi (鵝鑾鼻) is a cape at Taiwan's southernmost tip, on the Hengchun Peninsula in Pingtung County within Kenting National Park. Its landmark is the gleaming white cylindrical Eluanbi Lighthouse, built in 1883 and nicknamed 'the Light of East Asia.' The lighthouse sits inside a roughly 59-hectare park of eroded coral-rock formations and tropical woodland, making it a favorite spot for coastal walks and sunrise or sunset views.

Practical info

Admission is roughly 60 TWD for adults (confirm the latest fee and hours; typically summer 09:00–18:00, winter 09:00–17:00, closed Mondays, subject to change). By public transport, take a Kuo-Kuang bus to Hengchun, then transfer to the Eluanbi route. Scooter traffic in Taiwan is chaotic, so renting is not advised for novices (an International Driving Permit is required).
