🇯🇵 Kabukicho (Shinjuku, Tokyu Kabukicho Tower)

歌舞伎町 東急歌舞伎町タワー · 도쿄 신주쿠구

Location

Overview

Kabukicho is Japan's largest entertainment and nightlife district in Shinjuku, Tokyo, its streets awash in neon after dark. At its heart stands Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, a 48-floor, roughly 225m landmark opened in April 2023 that packs cinemas, a theater, live halls, hotels and a food hall into a single building. By day it is easygoing enough for families, but Kabukicho's back alleys at night still call for street smarts.

Good to know

Practical info

About a 1-minute walk from Seibu-Shinjuku Station, roughly 7 minutes from JR Shinjuku Station. The tower's floors 1-5 (shops/dining) and the 17th-floor terrace are free; individual theaters, live halls and hotels require separate tickets or fees. Hours and prices vary by venue, so check the official site for the latest. A daytime visit is the most comfortable.
