Location

Overview

This coral archipelago in the Caribbean Sea south of mainland Cuba has been a no-take marine protected area since 1996. It is considered one of the Caribbean's premier shark diving destinations, known for schools of silky sharks and Caribbean reef sharks, and is accessible only by liveaboard through a single government-authorized operator. The park's ecological diversity extends to giant goliath groupers and American crocodiles found in its mangrove flats.
