A Joseon-era beacon-fire mound and viewing deck at the 427 m summit of Hwangnyeongsan, this is one of Busan's signature night-view spots. SafetyGetting down at night is the tricky part: few taxis wait up top. Book a ride in advance via the KakaoTaxi app, or plan to walk down to a bus stop.
SeasonThe exposed summit is very windy and stays cool even in summer; autumn and winter feel much colder. Bring a windbreaker or extra layer in any season.
SafetyThe road to the top is a narrow two-lane mountain road. Drive slowly at night or in rain, as there are many curves and limited visibility.
MannersThis is a popular couples' and photographers' viewpoint. If using a tripod or flash, avoid blocking others' views and keep noise down after dark.

Practical info
When driving or taking a taxi, set the destination to 'Hwangnyeongsan Jeonmang Rest Area' so you arrive at the free parking lot just below the observatory (391-39 Hwangnyeongsan-ro, Nam-gu) rather than the trailhead. It is about 350 m / a 10-minute walk from the lot to the summit. A taxi from Geumnyeonsan Station (Line 2, Exit 6) costs roughly KRW 6,000-7,000.
