Overview
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park honors the victims of the 1945 atomic bombing and stands as a global symbol of the wish for peace. At its heart is the Atomic Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site preserved in its ruined state as the former Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall near the hypocenter. The park also holds the Peace Memorial Museum, the Cenotaph, and other memorials.
