• The Summer Wave Music Festival (夏浪音乐节): weekend evening sets by invited Chinese artists on the Sunshine Coast music stage next to the bungee tower, starting around 20:00 and running roughly 40 minutes, included with a same-day ticket
• Mini World Adventure Mountain (迷你世界·冒险山), a zone built entirely around a Chinese sandbox-game IP — a rare chance to see a domestic Chinese property rendered as a full theme-park land

Good to know

• SeasonJuly is Shenzhen's hottest month: daytime averages near 32°C, clear days exceeding 35°C, and humidity of 80–85%. From July to September the city is affected by roughly three to four typhoons a month, and outdoor rides suspend without notice during lightning or high winds. Bring water, a hat and sunscreen, check the typhoon signal and the park's notices the day before, and schedule the water park or indoor attractions for midday while saving the coasters for opening hour and dusk.
• RulesMainland Chinese parks use real-name ticketing. Foreign visitors must book with their passport details and carry that same physical passport for entry; a ticket bought under someone else's identity will not admit you. Children up to 1.2 m enter free and those 1.2–1.5 m get a discounted rate, and individual rides carry their own height and health restrictions (heart conditions, high blood pressure, spinal problems, pregnancy). Note also that under Shenzhen's smoking control ordinance, smoking anywhere outside designated areas — including e-cigarettes — is a finable offence.
• RulesSort out payments and connectivity before you fly. Register Alipay and WeChat Pay with passport verification and an international card (Visa, Mastercard, JCB) while still at home; small transactions are fee-free but larger ones carry a service fee, and cash alone will slow you down at ticket counters and kiosks. Google, YouTube, Instagram and LINE are blocked, so install and pay for a VPN before arrival, or rely on carrier roaming, which routes traffic through your home country and bypasses the block. Google Maps is effectively unusable — install Amap or Baidu Maps, and DiDi for taxis.
• RulesSeveral nationalities, including South Korean passport holders, can enter mainland China visa-free for up to 30 days through 31 December 2026 for tourism, business, visiting relatives or transit. You need at least six months of passport validity, a return or onward ticket, accommodation details and a completed electronic arrival card; the exemption cannot be extended or converted in-country. Overstaying can mean fines of RMB 500 per day plus an entry ban, so count the 30 days precisely, and re-check your embassy's notice before departure since the policy can change.
• SafetyIn October 2023 trains collided on the launched coaster Snowy Eagle (雪域雄鹰), injuring a number of riders; the park closed for about two and a half months and reopened on 16 January 2024. Close to half the attractions were still not running immediately after reopening, and the coaster involved never returned to service. Operations are normal now, but individual rides go offline more often than at major parks elsewhere — check the daily operating board by the gate or the official mini-program as soon as you enter, and build your route around what is actually running that day.
• CautionBuy only through the official website, the official WeChat mini-program, or established resellers such as Klook, KKday or Trip.com. Heavily discounted tickets circulating on social media or resale channels are frequently invalid, and real-name ticketing means they will not admit you in the first place. The on-site express pass (快速通行证) is worth it on weekends and in peak season, but local advice is that weekday queues are short enough not to bother. Lockers typically run 60 yuan large and 40 yuan small with a 10 yuan deposit — question any figure far above that.
• MannersDuring the Summer Wave Carnival there is no dry corner of the water park; water fights escalate from water pistols to buckets and basins, so a waterproof phone pouch, a change of clothes and grippy sandals are essential. Local etiquette, observed even in the thick of it, is to avoid spraying staff, performers, camera equipment, anyone waving you off, and families with babies. Swimwear is required in the water park, and queue-jumping or reserving loungers and locker-room space for absent friends is frowned upon.
