Handam Coastal Walk is a roughly 1.2 km seaside trail in Aewol on Jeju's western coast, linking Aewol Port with Gwakji Gwamul Beach (part of the Gwakgeum Olle route). Mostly paved and nearly flat, it lets you walk right beside black basalt rock formations and emerald water, making it easy for families, couples, and older travelers. Facing due west, it is also a well-known sunset spot.

SafetyThe natural basalt rocks along the trail get very slippery when wet. If you step off the deck onto the rocks, wear non-slip shoes and watch your footing.
SafetyThe trail has almost no lighting. The walk back after sunset can be dark, so bring a phone flashlight or headlamp.
SeasonParking nearby gets very crowded on weekends and in peak season. Come early, or park at Gwakji Gwamul Beach and walk over (confirm current fees/hours on site).
RulesDogs should be leashed on the deck sections; the natural rock stretches can injure paw pads. Check the latest pet rules before visiting.
