Haeundae Beach is Busan's signature stretch of white sand, roughly 1.5 km long and about 40 m wide, with a gentle slope that draws millions of visitors each peak season. Beyond summer swimming, it links to the Dongbaekseom coastal trail, a seaside aquarium, and the Blue Line Park, making it a year-round coastal destination. Backed by high-rise hotels and cafes, it is an easy-to-reach urban beach with full amenities.

Good to know
SafetyHaeundae is prone to rip currents that pull swimmers seaward. If caught, do not swim against it; swim parallel to shore to escape or stay afloat and wait for rescue, and always swim near a lifeguard.
RulesSwimming is only allowed during posted daytime hours (about 09:00–18:00 in season); entering the water after sunset is prohibited. Ignoring designated zones or times can bring a fine (up to about KRW 100,000), so check current notices.
SeasonThe official swimming season is roughly late June to mid-September (June 26–Sept 15 in 2026); outside it there are no lifeguards and swimming is restricted. During the June–September rainy and typhoon period, high waves and strong winds can close the water.
SafetyNever enter the water after drinking. Alcohol-related incidents recur here, so if you have been drinking, stay out of the sea.
MannersIn peak summer (July–August) the sand gets extremely crowded. Keep to your parasol/mat space and the walkways, and take your trash with you or use the designated bins.
CautionBeach parasol, tube, and life-jacket rentals have set official rates (in 2026, KRW 10,000 each for parasol/tube/beach bed and KRW 5,000 for a life jacket). If a vendor overcharges, verify at the tourist information or management office.
Practical info
Swimming season and hours (roughly late June to mid-September, 09:00–18:00) plus rental and facility fees are best reconfirmed via the Haeundae-gu official pages. No entrance fee. From Haeundae Station (Busan Metro Line 2, Exit 3 or 5), it is about an 8–10 minute walk.
