🇬🇺 Tumon Bay Lagoon

Tumon Bay (Tomhom) · 투몬(타무닝)

Location

Overview

Tumon Bay Lagoon is the shallow, coral-fringed lagoon running the length of Guam's main resort strip, sheltered by an outer barrier reef that keeps waves and currents to a minimum — making it the island's go-to spot for beginner and family snorkeling. In water as shallow as 0.5-3m you can drift over coral gardens and schools of reef fish, with average visibility of 5-10m and warm 28-29°C water year-round. As of 2026 the bay is still easy to access, with wade-in entry right off the sand in front of nearly every resort along San Vitores Road.

Practical info

Tumon is about a 10-15 minute drive from Guam International Airport, and most visitors simply rent snorkel gear from a resort or a San Vitores Road rental shop and walk straight in from the beach. Night or boat-based snorkel tours require booking with an operator, so confirm current hours, pricing, and any jellyfish advisories with a local tour operator or the Guam Visitors Bureau before you go.
