Location

Overview

The Fremont Street Experience is a pedestrian mall covering the westernmost five blocks of Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas, opened in 1995. It is famous for the giant 'Viva Vision' LED canopy that runs the length of the street with nightly light-and-sound shows, plus free live music and the nostalgic neon glow of old 'Glitter Gulch.' The screen was rebuilt in 2019 with roughly 49 million LEDs and is billed as one of the world's largest video screens; as of 2026 it remains a lively, free-to-enter attraction. Frame a visit as an evening outing into a denser, more down-to-earth 'old Vegas' contrast to the modern Strip.

Highlights

Good to know

Practical info

It sits in downtown Las Vegas, well north of the Strip and too far to walk comfortably, so take the 24-hour 'Deuce' bus, a taxi or a rideshare. The mall itself is open 24 hours and free; the light shows generally run on the hour from about 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., while paid attractions like the SlotZilla zipline require separate tickets. Always confirm current prices, hours and show schedules on the official website before you go.
