Europa-Park in Rust, in the south-west German state of Baden-Württemberg, is Germany's largest theme park, founded in 1975 by the Mack family of ride manufacturers. With 17 areas themed on European countries and more than 100 attractions and shows, it is the most-visited theme park in Europe after Disneyland Paris. The 2026 season is a headline year: a new 18th themed area, 'Monaco', opens together with a reworked Silver Star coaster, while the beloved spinning coaster Euro-Mir runs for its very last season. The park is far too big for a single day, so aim to arrive at opening and tackle the popular rides first.

RulesBook date-specific tickets in advance on the official site (europapark.de). On busy days, tickets bought at the gate cost about €10 more per person and can sell out. Confirm current prices and policies before you go.
SeasonThe July–August peak is very crowded and hot, with long queues for headline rides. Arrive at opening and use the free virtual queue feature in the official app. The winter season is magical but cold, and there are closure days during the late-November-to-early-December changeover, so check the exact dates.
SafetyMajor coasters have height restrictions, so check them in advance if travelling with children. Before boarding, stow phones, bags and loose items in the free lockers to avoid drops.
CautionBuy tickets only from the official website or authorised resellers. Beware of inflated prices or fake tickets on third-party resale sites, and wear bags in front in crowded areas to guard against pickpockets.
MannersQueue-jumping is considered rude in Germany and lines are respected strictly. A tip of around 5–10% is customary in restaurants, and smoking is allowed only in designated areas.
RulesBy train, travel to Ringsheim (Ringsheim/Europa-Park) station and continue by shuttle bus. The Deutschland-Ticket monthly pass, valid on regional trains nationwide, also covers this shuttle bus — handy when planning your journey.
Practical info
By train, alight at Ringsheim (Bahnhof Ringsheim/Europa-Park) and take the free shuttle bus (about 10 minutes); by car, the A5 motorway is the easiest route. The 2026 summer season opens on 28 March (pre-opening 22 March), usually from 9 a.m., with separate Halloween and winter seasons.
