🇭🇺 Egerszalók Salt Hill & Saliris Thermal Spa

Egerszalóki Sódomb (Saliris fürdő) · 에게르

Location

Overview

Egerszalók is a spa village about 8 km west of Eger where 65–68 °C mineral-rich thermal water spills down a natural travertine (limestone) slope, building a gleaming, terraced white hill. Locally called the "Salt Hill," it is one of only three formations of its kind in the world alongside Pamukkale in Turkey and Yellowstone's Mammoth Hot Springs, earning it the nickname "Hungary's Pamukkale." Right beside it, the Saliris Thermal & Spa offers 17 indoor and outdoor pools and an extensive sauna world with direct views of the salt hill, making it a popular wellness stop known for easing joint and rheumatic complaints. Granted official health-resort status in 2016, it remains fully open as of 2026.
