Efteling is a fantasy-themed park in Kaatsheuvel in the southern Netherlands. Opened on 31 May 1952 — three years before Disneyland — it is one of the world's oldest theme parks, built around the original Fairytale Forest (Sprookjesbos) and five themed realms (Reizenrijk, Marerijk, Ruigrijk, Anderrijk and Fantasierijk) inspired by European folklore, myths and fables.
