Dodamsambong is a group of three rocky peaks rising like islets from the middle of the Namhan River in Danyang, North Chungcheong Province, and is designated Scenic Site No. 44 (2008). Formed from limestone karst, the cone-shaped peaks centered on the larger middle peak are considered the finest of Danyang's Eight Scenic Views. The site is also tied to Jeong Do-jeon, a founding figure of the Joseon dynasty, who took the pen name 'Sambong' (Three Peaks) from here.

Good to know
SafetyThe peaks sit in the middle of a river; stay behind riverside and dock railings and do not approach the water. This is a scenic viewpoint, not a swimming or wading spot.
SeasonIn the freezing and thawing months (roughly December to early March) do NOT walk out onto the frozen river toward the peaks. Ice is thinner toward the river center and can break even when it looks solid.
SeasonMorning mist in spring/autumn is stunning, but after rain the Namhan River's water level and current can change quickly, so confirm on-site whether sightseeing boats and sailboats are operating.
RulesSimply viewing the scenery is free, but parking is charged, and the sailboat, cruise boat, and Story Hall each carry separate fees. Check current prices and hours before your visit.
MannersThe pavilion and riverbanks are part of a protected cultural/scenic heritage zone: no graffiti or damage, and carry out your trash.

Location: 644-13 Sambong-ro, Maepo-eup, Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. About a 5-minute drive from central Danyang. Viewing the scenery is free (parking charged).
