Damyang Metasequoia-lined Road is one of Jeollanam-do's signature strolling spots, where metasequoia trees planted along a national road around 1972 have grown into a soaring green tunnel. Repeatedly named among Korea's most beautiful roads, its roughly 2.1 km paid, car-free section can be walked end to end. Each season offers a different scene, from lush spring and summer greenery to fiery autumn foliage and snow-covered winter branches.

RulesThe paid strolling section is pedestrian-only, so bicycles and kick scooters are restricted here. Cyclists should use the adjacent Yeongsangang bike path and walk bikes or park them at the racks.
SeasonDuring autumn foliage season (Oct-Nov) and on weekends and holidays, visitors and traffic surge and parking and entry become very congested. Visit early morning or park a little farther away and walk in.
RulesOpening hours differ by season and close relatively early (around 6 p.m. in winter). Check current summer/winter hours and whether it opens on Seollal and Chuseok before your visit.
MannersPets must be leashed with waste bags carried at all times. To protect the trees, stay on the marked dirt and paved paths and do not break branches or step into planted areas.
SafetySome stretches mix dirt and gravel and can be slippery when wet, so wear comfortable shoes; on long summer walks, bring water and prepare for UV and insects despite the shade.

Admission is roughly 2,000 won for adults, 1,000 for teens and 700 for children, with free entry for children under 6, seniors 65+, Damyang residents and others (proof required).
