Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm is Korea's best-known sheep-grazing park, set on a highland plateau around 850–920 m above sea level in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do. Visitors walk a 1.2 km loop trail across meadows and ridgelines and can feed hay to the sheep, making it a favorite family and couples' outing. It offers dramatically different scenery by season—green pastures in summer, snow-covered ridges in winter.

Alpine-like snowy ridgelines that make it a top winter scenery destination
Good to know
SeasonSheep are usually grazed in the open meadows only from mid-May to late October; in winter they stay in a barn (the 'sheep's house'). Check the season if you want to see them on the pasture.
SafetyThe trail is sloped and becomes very slippery on snow and ice in winter. Bring crampons (spikes) and non-slip footwear for safety.
SafetyAt this high elevation the wind is strong and the felt temperature is low; dress warmly with a jacket, gloves, and hat. The summit viewpoint may be closed on very windy days.
SafetyThe access road to the farm can ice over in winter—carry snow chains or other vehicle safety gear in advance.
MannersFeed the sheep only the hay provided by the farm; avoid outside food and don't grab or startle the animals. Approach calmly.
RulesThe free feeding perk applies only to online reservations made the day before—same-day booking doesn't qualify. Verify current fees, hours, and closures on the official site before you go.
