🇸🇬 Clarke Quay

Singapore River

Location

Overview

Clarke Quay is Singapore's signature riverside nightlife district, five blocks of restored warehouses and shophouses along the Singapore River now filled with restaurants, rooftop bars, and clubs. By day it serves as a river-cruise departure point and pleasant waterfront walk; by night the pastel-colored buildings glow against the water, drawing crowds well past midnight. Entry is free and the area stays lively from dusk onward.

Practical info

Getting there: about a 3-5 minute walk from Clarke Quay MRT (NE5, North East Line); also walkable from Fort Canning (Downtown Line) and City Hall (NS/EW lines). Hours: the quay itself is free and always open, with bars and clubs peaking from evening to late night. Tip: eat cheaply at a hawker centre first and use Clarke Quay for the night view, a river cruise, and drinks to save money. Confirm fares, hours and rules before visiting.
