Cingjing Farm (清境農場) is a scenic mountain leisure farm at about 1,750 m elevation in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, central Taiwan, nicknamed the island's "Little Switzerland" for its rolling European-style pastures and free-roaming sheep. Its centerpiece, the Green Green Grasslands (青青草原), lets visitors mingle with the flock and watch sheep-shearing and equestrian shows, while the Cingjing Skywalk offers sweeping views of the grassland and surrounding peaks. Cool even in midsummer, it is a favorite summer escape for Taiwanese travelers.

SeasonAt 1,750 m elevation the temperature swings widely between day and night. Even in summer, mornings and evenings are chilly, so bring a warm layer or windbreaker.
SafetyHigh altitude can trigger symptoms such as dizziness or nausea; if you feel unwell you should avoid entering, and carry any personal medication you may need.
SafetyCingjing is famous for frequent fog, which can hide the views and sharply reduce visibility if you self-drive. Visiting in the morning gives more stable weather.
SafetyThe mountain road (Provincial Highway 14A) has many sharp curves and steep grades, so motion sickness is common. Take motion-sickness medication about 30 minutes before the climb, especially for children.
MannersFeed the sheep only with feed bought at the farm's designated stalls. Human snacks, bread or plastic bags can injure the animals.
RulesFees, opening hours and show times vary by season and by school/public holidays (e.g. no sheep-shearing show on Wednesdays during summer/winter vacation). Check the official website for the latest details before visiting.
Practical info
Open daily 08:00–17:00 (confirm latest). Green Green Grasslands admission is around NT$270 full / NT$210 concession / NT$150 reduced, with the Skywalk ticketed separately (about NT$50) — verify current prices before you go. From Taichung Station or HSR Taichung, take a Nantou Bus direct service (about 2–2.5 hours). Weekends and holidays are very crowded, so weekdays are more pleasant; August–September is typhoon season, so check the forecast.
