Overview

Cheonjiyeon Falls is a roughly 22 m high, 12 m wide waterfall set in a wooded gorge just a short walk from downtown Seogwipo on Jeju Island, plunging into a pond about 20 m deep. The pond is a designated habitat of the marbled (Mutae) eel, Natural Monument No. 27, and is surrounded by a protected subtropical forest (No. 379) and rare camphor-type trees (No. 163). It sits within a UNESCO Global Geopark and is well known for its evening illumination.

The falls are in central Seogwipo, easy to reach, with parking available. Buy tickets at the entrance (adult around 2,000 KRW, child around 1,000 KRW; free categories include under-6, seniors 65+, registered disabled, and Jeju residents).
