Location

Overview

Chandelier Cave, near Ngermeaus Island close to Koror, Palau, is an underwater cave system formed in limestone karst that leads to several air-filled chambers. The entrance lies below the surface, so divers must swim in submerged; inside, stalactites hang from the ceilings of the air pockets, giving the cave its chandelier-like name. Visitors can also observe a distinctive halocline where fresh and salt water form separate layers.
