🇮🇩 Blue Lagoon, Padang Bai

Blue Lagoon, Padang Bai · 인도네시아 발리 동부 파당바이

Location

Overview

Blue Lagoon is a small, sheltered cove of about 100 metres tucked beside Padang Bai harbour in East Bali, and one of the easiest snorkelling spots to reach on the Bali mainland. A gentle white-sand bottom slopes into coral-covered walls, and the water is usually calm, which makes it ideal for beginners and families. Its resident blue-spotted stingrays are the signature sighting, alongside clownfish, angelfish, butterflyfish and Moorish idols, with the occasional turtle, cuttlefish or moray eel. As of 2026 it remains a free public beach, and visibility is best in the morning and at high tide.

Practical info

Blue Lagoon is roughly a 1.5-hour drive from Kuta or about an hour from Sanur; park in Padang Bai and walk about two minutes down a rocky path to the beach. There is no entrance fee, only local parking and a tip. Boat snorkel tours (Blue Lagoon plus Tanjung Jepun) typically run 3–4 hours, but confirm current prices, times and availability locally, and check that the operator is properly licensed.
