🇻🇳 Bái Đính Pagoda (Chùa Bái Đính)

Chùa Bái Đính · 닌빈성

Location

Overview

Bái Đính Pagoda (Chùa Bái Đính) in Gia Viễn, Ninh Bình Province, is one of Southeast Asia's largest Buddhist temple complexes, about 95 km from Hanoi. It pairs an ancient pagoda founded in 1121 under the Lý dynasty with a vast new complex built between 2003 and 2010, and is famous for its roughly 3 km corridor lined with 500 stone arhat statues, a 36-ton bronze bell, and a tall stupa with sweeping views. It sits near Tràng An and Hoa Lư, so most visitors combine them on a single Ninh Bình day trip.

Practical info

Allow 2–3 hours; comfortable shoes essential. The gate-to-center stretch is ~3.5 km, so the electric buggy (about 30,000 VND one way) is recommended. Entry is free; only the stupa has a small fee. Confirm the latest opening hours (roughly morning to evening) and prices. Best combined with Tràng An and Hoa Lư as a day trip.
