🇧🇪 Atomium

Atomium · 브뤼셀

Location

Overview

The Atomium is Brussels' iconic monument, built for the 1958 World's Fair (Expo 58), depicting the unit cell of an iron crystal magnified about 165 billion times through nine stainless-steel spheres. Standing 102 m tall with 18 m spheres linked by tubes, it draws over 600,000 visitors a year and is the city's most popular attraction. In 2026 it marks the 20th anniversary of its 2004-2006 renovation with a special programme of new digital-art installations, a podcast, and more than twenty activities. Plan it as a half-day visit combining the top-sphere panorama with the interior exhibitions.
