🇧🇪 MAS - Museum aan de Stroom

Museum aan de Stroom · 안트베르펜

Location

Overview

MAS (Museum aan de Stroom) is Antwerp's largest museum, opened in 2011 in the revitalised old-harbour district of Eilandje beside the river Scheldt. Its landmark 60-metre tower stacks storeys of Indian red sandstone and undulating glass panels, and its collection of some 470,000 objects explores 'Antwerp and its connection to the world' through trade, the port and global cultures. The free spiral escalator route called the Boulevard and the free 360-degree rooftop panorama are the signature draws, and as of 2026 the museum still pairs paid galleries with generous free-access spaces. It makes an excellent orientation point for taking in the whole city and its river.
