One of Bagan's finest temples, completed in 1105, admired for its balanced cross-shaped plan and gilded spire. It is especially famous for the giant standing Buddhas facing its four directions.

SafetyThe stone floor is very hot at midday — beware bare-foot burns; morning or late afternoon is better.
