Italy's premier Alpine long-distance trail, starting at the emerald Lago di Braies and traversing the jagged peaks of the Dolomites. At about 120km over 8–10 days, it showcases a UNESCO World Heritage mountain landscape.

Good to know

·If the full route feels daunting, walking just the section near Cortina d'Ampezzo for a few days is popular too.
SeasonJul–Sep is optimal given hut operating schedules and snow conditions.
SafetySome sections include via ferrata (fixed ropes and ladders), requiring basic gear.
